GET INVOLVED

UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the day of action on 1st April. We are now supporting the global vigil for Jeyasre Kathiravel on 21st April. Please join us – https://justiceforjeyasre.com/

APRIL 1ST

April 1st 2021 is the three month anniversary of Jeyasre’s murder, we will hold a day of action to commemorate Jeyasre Kathiravel, to demand #JusticeForJeyasre and an end to gender based violence in the fashion industry.

We will be asking H&M why after THREE MONTHS there has been no compensation paid to Jeyasre’s family and why there is still no Enforceable Brand Agreement (EBA) on gender based violence between H&M, Eastman Exports, and the Tamil Nadu Textile and Common Labour Union (TTCU) – an agreement that is vital to protect women workers at this factory.

UPDATE at 08:25 UK time on 1st April 2021 it was announced by the Asia Floor Wage Alliance that Jeyasre’s family have reached an agreeable compensation settlement with Eastman Exports. UK Justice For Jeyasre is heartened by this news and we will concentrate our efforts today, and in the future, on calling for a binding agreement to end gender based violence at the factory and across fashion supply chains so that this appalling crime is not allowed to reoccur.

We stand in solidarity with Jeyasre’s family, with the Tamil Nadu Textile and Common Labour Union (TTCU), and with the Asia Floor Wage Alliance

  • Our full demands can be found here.

Hi @hm why haven’t you signed the binding agreement to end gender-based violence in your supply-chain, following the murder and rape of Jeyasre Kathiravel, one of your garment workers? #JusticeForJeyasre https://asia.floorwage.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Press-Release-TTCU-AFWA-GLJ-5-2-2021.pdf [CLICK TO TWEET]

Hej @hm!

#JusticeForJeyasre https://asia.floorwage.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Press-Release-TTCU-AFWA-GLJ-5-2-2021.pdf [CLICK TO TWEET]

There’s nothing sustainable about your brand when it depends on gender-based violence for profit. Sign the binding agreement to end gender-based violence, after the rape and murder of one of your garment workers #JusticeForJeyasre https://asia.floorwage.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Press-Release-TTCU-AFWA-GLJ-5-2-2021.pdf

what exactly is sustainable about your brand if you won’t even sign an agreement to end gender-based violence in your supply chain, after the rape and murder of one of your garment workers? #JusticeForJeyasre https://asia.floorwage.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Press-Release-TTCU-AFWA-GLJ-5-2-2021.pdf

Vad är det exakt som är hållbart med ert varumärke om ni inte ens kan underteckna ett avtal om att stoppa könsrelaterat våld i er distributionskedja efter våldtäkten och mordet på en av era textilarbetare? #JusticeForJeyasre
